I have had this book preordered since November So, imagine my surprise and joy when I was given a digital copy in exchange for my honest review. This is the memoir of Lady Glenconner who served as lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret/5().

LADY OF THE GLEN by Jennifer Roberson is an interesting medieval Scottish Historical Fiction set in Scotland. For a romp through 17th century Scotland you must read "Lady of the Glen". It is riveting tale of treachery, betrayal, savagery and /5.

Of Jennifer Roberson's three historical fantasy novels, Lady of the Glen is the most irreplaceable, in my opinion. This is a shorter work - just the one book, instead of two like with the Robin Hood series. Much of Lady of the Glen is waiting and wondering and hoping, just like in 4/5(35). The Lady Of The Glen is an historical romance set in Scotland in the early s.

Elayne is not the usual dutiful daughter of a Laird; she’s loud, opinionated and known as a ‘harpy’. The only child of James MacNally, she has grown up getting her own way/5.

Other novels include three mainstream historicals from Kensington: Lady of the Forest, an award-winning reinterpretation of the Robin Hood story emphasizing Marian's role in how the legend came to be; a sequel, Lady of Sherwood, continuing the adventures of Robin and Marian; and Lady of the Glen, the documented story of seventeenth-century /5(4).

The Lady of the Glen was a really nice story. It caught my interest right from the beginning. I loved the heroine, Elayne. Her character was that of a strong-willed Scottish lass and I thought it was great the way she took a whole brash, unruly, clan on as her own and practically whipped it into shape single-handedly.

Her character made me Reviews: 9. Once Lady of the Glen limited edition releases are sold out – like our fleeting Littlemill and Bowmore releases – you will only find a nostalgic snapshot of them on our Collection page.

Currently, 20 million casks of whisky lie maturing in private Scottish locations. Lady of the Glen offers you the grandest handful of these.

LADY IN WAITING My Extraordinary Life in the Shadow of the Crown By Anne Glenconner. It seems particularly apt that Anne Coke Tennant, Baroness Glenconner, was born into an ancient British family.

The most successful is obviously the Tamdhu, which I think worked well. The Glen Moray I would have preferred to try as a straightforward ex-bourbon expression, whilst the Linkwood retains more character.

Plenty of whisky for thought and some enticing whiskies clearly in the pipeline. Photographs kindly provided by Lady of the Glen. Lady of the Glen Jennifer Roberson, Author Kensington Publishing Corporation $ (0p) ISBN More By and About This Author Buy this book.

Read the book years ago, great story, Narrator made it seem more choppy, he was good with reading male characters dialogue, but very challenged when reading the lines of the main female character, Cat.
